Starstruck! Maynard presents Starstruck at Sydney Underground Film Festival

I’m beyond excited to reveal the movie we get to screen in 4K on the big screen for the Sydney Underground Film Festival this year.
STARSTRUCK from 1982 is one of my favourite Australian films, although it is rarely (if ever) on television and hasn’t been on DVD for over 20 years.

The festival is at The Factory in Marrickville this year and we are having a 3pm session on Saturday 12th September. With our usual costume prizes being awarded and I’ll DJ downstairs at the bar in the courtyard afterwards.

Tickets available now

“Be who you like, like who you be.”

This will be fun, tutu or no tutu!

If you came to last year’s Xanadu screening, you know we encourage singing and dancing, so pogo to Starstruck in what will be the most shamelessly colourful cinema environment in Sydney. There will be lo-fi but unique prizes for best outfits. Go as 1982 of pick a character from the film From Jackie to Angus to Max Cullen as the dressing gown wearing Reg. Or just wear that tutu you’ve got there. Hasn’t everybody?

Tickets are limited, as are the people who really get into this film. There is nothing quite like sharing the enjoyment of a unique film with a loud cinema of like minded people. Probably don’t bring a live cockatoo, that wouldn’t work out well.

You can tell I’m excited about this film.
