Brain Freeze – video livestream The Coldest 100, 2024 Saturday 29th June

Prepare yourself for the video livestream of the warmest parts of The Coldest 100, 2024.

Maynard hosts a video livestream of Australia’s own Coldest 100 – 2024. Saturday 29th June 8.15-9.30pm. Mostly picked by Andrew Sholl, it will feature world class musical shonk that only Australia can produce.

The Coldest 100 is songs about Australia, that sometimes don’t work out that well…

Expect to see Don Lane, Barry Crocker, Donnie & Marie, Cilla Black, John Farnham, Charo, Kahmahl and a lot of kangaroos (again) doing their bit to get on the show.

Hopefully we’ll have quest appearances from my fellow Aussie travellers Tim Ferguson, Tony Push, that guy in Orange, Brigitte Handley and the man in a tree.

See you then! Mate…..

Australia’s Coldest 100 – 2022

Australia’s Coldest 100 returns this Saturday with world class musical shonk that only Australia can produce.

Just look at this list of artists that you’ll never see on the same list or even in the same sentence.

Don Lane, Kyle Sandilands, Liza Minnelli, Ben Fordham, James Reyne, Samuel L Jackson, Barry Crocker, The Muzak Corporation, Wickety Wak, Lorrae Desmond, Frankie J Holden, Wilbur Wilde, Barry Crocker, Dean Martin, Victorian Police Cadets Skipping Team and the Big Brother cast of 2001 for just a start.

As well as wonderful regional jingles that remind you that major hubs of industry such as Toowoomba and Tasmania are still there.

The Coldest 100 knows the intersection of corporate thinking and opportunistic musicians…

After all, any dingbat can put together a list of good songs. It take a certain kind of goose like Andrew Sholl to put together 100 songs of Australian musical flotsam for 7 years in a row now.

The Coldest 100 is songs about Australia, sometimes they just don’t work out that well…

Andrew Sholl

It will all be going down from 9am Saturday 22nd January on Twitter @Ozkitsch Andrew Sholl shows no sign of modifying his musical taste.

If this music irks you, you’re probably on the wrong website. But if you have that clip of Don Lane singing the theme from Hawaii 5-0, let us know so Andrew can put it in next year.

Australia’s Coldest 100 – 2021

Australia’s Coldest 100 returns in January with some world class musical awkwardness that only Australia can produce. From The Bum Dance to Song of Wollongong, this list of 100 songs about Australia or by Australians (who may have received bad career advice) is a must for fans of the musical road less travelled.

The Coldest 100 is the creation of Andrew Sholl. He’s been featuring it on Twitter since 2016 and so far this year the combined worldwide interest in his list has seen 75 million views. So put that in your slouch hat and smoke it.

Every year I’m asked two questions: Where’s Johnny Farnham? and Where’s Alan Jones?

Andrew Sholl

I didn’t know Alan Jones was a singer, and I’m still not sure. But he gives I Am Australian a red hot try.

Any chance Alan gets to perform he’s up it like a rat up a rope.

Andrew Sholl

@Ozkitsch Andrew Sholl has been at this for 5 years now and he shows no sign of running out of Aussie musical oddities.

Australia’s Coldest 100 – 2020

Australia’s Coldest 100 returns on 25th January with some of the weirdest music Australia has ever spawned.

The Coldest 100 was the creation of Andrew Sholl on Twitter in 2016 and has been the embarrassing family member at the barbecue of Triple J’s Hottest 100 ever since. Anyone can have a guess at the hottest song of the year. But who has ever nominated Margarita Pracatan or Daryl Somers performing his version of Thankyou for Being a Friend ?

@Ozkitsch Andrew Sholl has allowed me to play you a few spoilers from the big day on Saturday (about 25).

A Sixpack of The Coldest 100

The Coldest 100 was the creation of Andrew Sholl on Twitter in 2016 and has been the Giddy Uncle of Triple J’s Hottest 100 ever since. Anyone can have a guess at the hottest song of the year, but who has ever nominated the Bunnings theme or Kylie Minogue performing her version of Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep?

Andrew only does this on Twitter (he has a real job) and releases his Coldest 100 in parallel with what ever number Triple J is up too.

The Coldest 100 can best be described as questionable songs by Australians and about Australia. So Andrew Sholl sat down with me at The Madame Frou Frou Cafe to sample a sixpack of his 100 cold ones.
